Descent to Gex
Once you have gone over the Faucille Pass and crossed the wood of fir trees, the D 1005 loops into a large hairpin bend above the pastures and hotels of Le Pailly. You will be rewarded with splendid panoramic views over Lake Geneva and the jagged peaks of the Alps. Lower down, in a very tight hairpin bend, you will see the Fontaine Napoléon (1805) by the roadside. Then the landscape of Gex lies at the foot of the slopes, where the meadows and woods of the Jura roll into a vast garden with a patchwork of fields.
