Ardèche

Ardèche
The Essential
Green, mountainous and wild, Ardèche has a few different sides for you to explore.
You'll discover the first, in the north, following the breathtaking panoramic road along the Rhône. The second awaits you in the centre, at the top of Mt Mézenc, where you can enjoy a view that runs from the Alps to Sancy, from Forez to the Aigoual. And finally, the third can be found by descending the gorges formed by the turbulent Ardèche River, which are considered among the finest in France and are home to a unique treasure: the Caverne du Pont-d'Arc, a replica of Chauvet Cave complete with cave paintings.
Don't forget to supplement your visit with the odd stop for food, for Ardèche also knows how to put on a good spread: caillette (pâté) and marrons glacés are plentiful in the region.
