Musée de la Soierie

Interesting
The Silk Museum documents the silk-making traditions of Charlieu, which is the headquarters of the last guild of silk weavers, under the protection of its patron saint, Notre Dame de Septembre. It charts the evolution of the industry's techniques since the 18C through an exhibition of silk-related professions. There are regular demonstrations. Designs by prestigious couturiers are exhibited on the upper floor, alongside a video projection about traditional and current techniques of silk weaving.
