Museum of old St Etienne

A charter here dating from 1258 mentions the name St Etienne for the first time. The museum also displays plans and engravings illustrating the history of the town, as well as a Baroque altarpiece. Another interesting exhibit is that highlighting the first industrial railway line which opened here in 1828. These are several good reasons for visiting the Hôtel de Villeneuve, with its fine ceilings.
