Convent of the Cordeliers, St-Nizier-sous-Charlieu
The convent of the Cordeliers has been entirely restored. The most interesting features are the capitals in the north gallery, which represent the Vices and the Virtues: you may recognise the ermine, which symbolises purity, the porcupine (justice), the dog (fidelity), the owl (wisdom), the dragon (controlled evil), the snake (hypocrisy)... Not to be missed either: the cloister galleries (late 14C-early 15C) embellished with plant motifs and the 14C single-nave church, flanked by three side chapels.
