This former residence of the lords of Chambéry, then of the Counts and Dukes of Savoie, the château, rebuilt in the 18C after two fires, houses the offices of the Prefecture and General Council. In the Treasury tower there is a display showing the development of the town and the château. You will see the Flamboyant Gothic-style lower rooms (14C), and the Sainte-Chapelle, where both Louis XI and Lamartine got married. Created by the Paccard foundry, the 70-bell carillon was installed in the Yolande tower in 1993.
