The highest ski resort of Europe (2,300m/7,546ft) is set in a grandiose cirque. Dominated by the Aiguille de Péclet (3,561m/11,658ft) and three glaciers demarcating the Vanoise National Park; the resort is car free. Practically devoid of vegetation, it is not really a hiker's paradise, but greatly appreciated by climbers who find the rocky landscape challenging (Péclet-Polset, Bouchet point).
