One man can transform the fate of a place, which is what happened to the village of Giverny, where Claude Monet lived from 1883 to his death in 1926. This is where he painted his Peupliers and Meules series of works and captured moments of family happiness with his wife and daughters on canvas. His pink house with its green shutters and delicious garden seem to transplant the visitor into the painter's finest works.
