The Essential
This town, in the heart of the Baden vineyards, has an interesting historic centre. The Storchenturm (stork tower), the only remaining vestige of the fortress, was a prison at one time. Its old town hall dates from 1608 and the town council chamber is adorned with stained glass that recounts the town's history. Burgheim Church is of Carolingian origins, but its belfry and nave date from the late 15C.
