Offenbourg

Offenbourg
The Essential
Offenburg was promoted to the status of imperial city by Emperor Frederick II in 1240, but its development was brutally halted in 1689, when it was burnt to the ground by Louis XIV's troops during the Nine Years' War. Today, Offenburg is the administrative and industrial centre of the Ortenau region.
