Dominican Museum, Rottweil
The museum takes its name from a Dominican monastery founded here in 1266. It houses various objects dating from Roman times, discovered during archaeological digs in the region. These include the beautiful Orpheus Mosaic. The museum also boasts a section devoted to holy art in the Middle Ages comprised of some 180 wooden sculptures and altars, including Swabian sculptures. Contemporary art exhibitions are also staged here.
