Kloster Bebenhausen

Interesting
This former Cistercian monastery, founded in the late 12C, is an interesting example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture in Germany. In the 15C, Bebenhausen was reputed to be the wealthiest monastery in Wurtemberg, at which time it owned a huge estate. The famous roof turret, an iconic landmark of the abbey, dates from this prosperous period. In addition to the cloister, the bright summer refectory, adorned with delicate paintings, is of particular interest.
