Linderhof Palace

The exquisite little palace of Linderhof is the epitome of glitter and luxury and its lavish ornamentation is so overwhelming as to even endow the structure with a certain harmony. The luxurious decor almost hides some of the most remarkable exhibits, such as the Gobelin tapestries and the Bohemia crystal chandeliers. Don't miss the first-floor rooms, especially the Audience Chamber, the bedchamber and the hall of mirrors.

Our reports

Exploring Bavaria’s castles

Ludwig II of Bavaria was a solitary dreamer, little interested in affairs of state who devoted his brief reign to edifying extravagant projects in the shape of ever grander and more luxurious castles. Neuschwanstein, Linderhof and Herrenchiemsee, three palaces he built during his lifetime, bear witness to both the ambition and the eccentricity that characterised this “fairy tale king”.
