This attractive square, laid out by Peter Joseph Lenné in the mid 19C, is bordered to the west by the Künstlerhaus Bethanien. To the north of the square, St Thomas' evangelical church (1864-69) was built by Friedrich Adler. Opposite the sanctuary is the famous "Tree house", erected in the 1980s by a Turkish immigrant.
