National Library

Interesting
The treasures housed behind these thick walls include old maps, early printed books and original music scores by composers such as Bach and Schumann. Founded in 1661 by the Great Elector, the Prussian national library was built by Ernst von Ihne, who also designed the Bode museum in a similar grandiose style, between 1903 and 1914. It is home to some 3.7 million volumes and the reading room served as a set in Wim Wenders' movie, Angels of Desire.
