Wolfenbüttel Palace

Interesting
Access to the palace is via Krambuden, a narrow arcade-lined street. Originally a fortress conquered by Henry the Lion, it underwent several major transformations to culminate in the present Baroque residence. In the 16C and 17C, various ducal patrons made it a regional cultural centre. Its furniture, tapestries and paintings recreate a Flamboyant Baroque interior.
