Schwerin Palace

Interesting
Schwerin Castle, a Gothic Revival construction with Gothic and Baroque features, is the jewel in the city's architectural crown. Built between 1845 and 1857 as the residence of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, it is one of the most important 19C civic buildings in Germany. A collection of works of art, German porcelain and 18C and 19C paintings are displayed in the former living quarters and function rooms.
