Saarbrücken
The Essential
Greatly damaged during WWII, the capital of the Saarland has since developed into a regional metropolis that has made the most of its strategic border location. From its heyday during the time of Prince William-Henry of Nassau and despite the events of the 20C, it has nonetheless preserved a fine group of Baroque edifices.
