Rübeland
The Essential
Interesting
This village is mainly known for its limestone caves and grottoes (some are open to the public) formed by limestone erosion. Nearby is the impressive maze of rock masses of Bodetal Valley. By far, the most spectacular site is the Roßtrappe (The Charger's Hoofmark), which provides a view of the stream tumbling between rocky crags and the distant woods. A short distance away, the rugged forest landscape is honeycombed with interesting footpaths.
