This Gothic church was built on the remains of a Romanesque church begun in the 13C and completed in the 15C. The sketches for the funerary plaques are attributed either to A Dürer or to L Cranach the Elder. Also see the Novices' Altar (in front of the rood screen) and the Benefactors' Statues (in front of the main chancel), which depict Emperor Otto I and Empress Adelaide.
