Schwarzenberg

Schwarzenberg
The Essential
Perched on a rocky spur, the old town nestles around the castle and church. The fortress was erected in the 12C, converted into a hunting lodge for the prince-electors in the 16C and now houses the town museum. The Baroque Church of St George (17C) boasts a broad, attractively decorated nave with an elegant pulpit, wrought-iron choir screens and a ceiling decorated with cherubs.
