This modern establishment which is out of place in an area with a preservation order, was built on the site of a former convent. On the wall of the ancient tower of the St Nicolas Church, note the bas-relief to the glory of King Mathias Corvin, the only true portrait of the king to have survived. The king is sitting on a throne with a sceptre in his hand, with two angels holding his crown. From the hotel lobby, you can access the remains of the nave (view of the Parliament) and the cloisters.
