Hallormsstadaskogur Forest

In the first half of the 20C, Iceland made a great effort to reforest, with a view to restoring the country's original look from before deforestation and the devastation brought about by natural catastrophes. Hallormsstadaskógur Forest was thus planted with trees imported from places such as Siberia, Scandinavia and Alaska. The arboretum, which has a trail running through it, has 70 different species.
