Reynisdrangar

Highly recommended
To the east, the handsome ridge of Reynisfjall (340m) plunges into the ocean and is echoed in the formidable ghostly mineral relief of Reynisdrangar. The highlight of the site, these slightly eerie-looking basalt sea stacks emerge from the mist, defying the whipping winds. Legend has it that they are trolls that were turned into stone when they were caught out by the brightness of the dawn light... More than 110 boats have sunk in these waters in barely a century!
