A charming village founded in the 17C, Ramelton owes its fortune to the linen and tanning industries, vestiges of which can still be seen in the tall grey stone buildings once used as tanneries. Lined with old warehouses and a popular place for an evening stroll, the quay is particularly attractive at sunset. Note the Fish House, which originally housed the fish market, and the old Victorian weighing scales.
