Chester Beatty Library
Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1875-1968) collected religious manuscripts and art from Europe, Persia, the Far East and Asia. This museum showcases, in particular, Arabic, Persian and Turkish manuscripts, including over 270 copies of the Koran, some of which illuminated by great calligraphers. Japanese and Chinese art features high-quality paintings and prints. There are also some major works by Dürer, Goya, Holbein... Make sure you finish the visit on the landscaped rooftop.
