Inishmore (Inis Móri)

Interesting
The largest of the three Aran islands (12.8km by 3.2km/7.5mi by 2mi) is famous for its drystone walls, built with stones dug out of the soil so that it could be farmed. They protect the crops from the strong salty winds off the Atlantic. Visitors land at Kilronan port where the Aran Heritage Centre explains the island's natural heritage and traditions. You can then set off and explore the countryside and sites by bicycle.
