Dunmore Cave

Interesting
Dunmore Cave, one of the finest in Ireland, has some fascinating formations. Historically speaking, the cave is mentioned as early as the 9C in Celtic mythology. According to another tale from the 10C, Vikings carried out a massacre here. The series of adjoining chambers have been given fanciful names inspired by the shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites, which are shown off to great advantage thanks to astute lighting.
