New Ross
The Essential
This old estuary port is now a large peaceful town with pubs lined along the quayside overlooking the River Barrow. In addition to being a pleasant place for a stroll, New Ross offers visitors a chance to learn more about the history of the immigrants who left Ireland for the United States by visiting the Dunbrody Famine Ship and the J.F. Kennedy Trust museum, dedicated to John Fitzgerald Kennedy, whose family originally came from this region.
