Avoca

Avoca
The Essential
Standing on the edge of the peaceful waters of the Avonmore, this pretty little village, which used to be renowned for its copper mines, is famous across the British Isles for its pub, The Fitzgerald's, which in 1996 was the setting of Ballykissangel, an extremely popular television show. The other attraction of Avoca is the Avoca Handweavers factory outlet: visitors can see this 18C weaving workshop, powered by a mill, where quality plaids and blankets are produced; these are on sale in the shop.
