National Museum of Archaeology of Reggio di Calabria

The museum's highlights, the Warriors of Riace, two bronze statues discovered in 1972 on the seabed, should not prevent visitors from admiring an attractive collection of pinakes, terracotta bas-reliefs from the 5C BC which were used as ex-votos and were dedicated to Persephone, wife of Hades. After a major restoration and modernisation project, it is one of Italy's most important archaeological museums.
