Palazzo e Galleria Nazionale di Capodimonte

Highly recommended
Capodimonte was built by Charles III in 1738 to house the Farnese collection. At the very summit of the hill, the palace stands in a pleasant park which is home to the remains of the renowned Capodimonte porcelain factory. In the palace itself, the royal apartments are well worth a visit, as is the superb art gallery, which houses one of the best art collections in Italy. There are so many masterpieces on display here that it is impossible to list them all - not to be missed!
