St Andrew's Cathedral (Duomo di S. Andrea)

Interesting
Founded in the 9C, then enlarged in the 10C and 13C, the cathedral illustrates the oriental tastes of many harbour cities. The façade (rebuilt in 19C) stands at the top of an eye-catching staircase adorned with geometrical designs in multi-coloured stone. The bell tower, on the left, is all that remains of the original church. A lovely bronze door from Constantinople leads to a Baroque interior where you can admire antique columns.
