This fishing village lies at the mouth of the Valle del Dragone (Dragon valley). It is home to two old churches, both of which are the object of great religious fervour: Santa Maria Maddalena and San Salvatore de' Birecto, a medieval gem founded in the 10C, where the dukes of Amalfi were crowned. Restoration work has revealed a fresco dating from the year 1000, a 12C low-relief carving and a 13C altar. A steep, winding road leads from the village to Ravello, offering stunning views at every turn.
