Suspended between the sea and the sky above the Amalfi coast, Ravello enjoys a stunning location. With its delightful views and elegant villas, the town has long been popular with artists, writers and musicians, including the Bloomsbury Group (Virginia and Leonard Woolf), D. H. Lawrence, Graham Greene, Gore Vidal, Escher and Miró. Richard Wagner also fell under the spell of this unforgettable town and the great Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer designed an elegant auditorium here, which was opened in 2010.
