National Archaeological Museum of Ferrare

Begun in the late 15C by Biagio Tossetti but never finished, this palace with its attractive arcaded courtyard and lovely marble stairway is home to the National archaeological museum which boasts a fine collection of Attic vases and funerary furniture from the Etruscan town of Spina, a prosperous Mediterranean port discovered by archaeologists at the beginning of the 20C.
