Temple of Cybele

On the Palatine Hill, in the triangular enclosure known as Campo della Magna Mater, stand the ruins of the Temple of Cybele, the goddess of Phrygia, built in 191. The temple was rebuilt by Augustus after several fires. Today only the base of the cella wall remains in the shade of a group of holm oaks.
