Viterbo
The Essential
Interesting
Viterbo, the capital of Tuscia, formerly Etruria, owes its rich medieval heritage to a brief period as papal capital in the 13C. The town has a well-preserved historic district, San Pellegrino, a working-class, craft industry neighbourhood. An abundance of towers, covered alleyways and flights of steps will take you back a few hundred years.
