Via Balbi

Interesting
This thoroughfare is the westernmost of the new streets built during the Secolo d'Oro. It is thanks to the Balbi family that it was opened in the 17C: they erected several buildings and made it their residential area. At no 5, see the imposing Palazzo dell'Università, a former Jesuit college (17C), and its majestic arcaded courtyard. After the Royal Palace, the most monumental part of the street ends on the Piazza Acquaverde (18C), which is dominated by the Piazza Principe railway station.
