Santa Giulia - Museum of the City of Brescia

This magnificent town museum is housed in the monastery founded in 753 (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and extended over the centuries to encompass the Lombard basilica of San Salvatore, Santa Maria Romanesque church in Solario (which are both part of the museum tour) and the Santa Giulia Renaissance church. The museum highlights the history of the monastery, archaeological materials, and local works of art ranging from prehistory to the 19C. In total, 12 000 exhibits are displayed in an area covering 14 000m².
