Grotte di Catullo (Grotto of Catullus)

At the far end of the isthmus of Sirmione, the archaeological area (where the huge villa of the poet Catullus once stood) has retained many remains of old Roman buildings and is also home to a small museum which provides information about the site. However, it is worth visiting the site, which juts right out into Lake Garda, simply for its magnificent location.
