When to go
There is never a dull moment in Milan, whose artistic and cultural scene is particularly vibrant.
Organise your trip depending on the main events and book well in advance, particularly if you intend to come during the Fashion weeks (February and September) or Design week (April), all of which are particularly busy as the whole city becomes the capital of fashion or design.
Football fans can watch Milan AC play, while music lovers will want to be at the Scala on 7 December, when the season opens.
On the temperature side, it can be very cold (and wet) in winter while in summer, temperatures frequently reach 30°C/85°F. In August Milan is completely deserted: it is thus less lively, but the prices are more reasonable and it is ideal for a peaceful tour of the museums and architecture.
