City Hall Square

Interesting
The focal point of this pretty little square, presided over by the town hall, is the statue of the Green Count (1853) in the middle. Along with the Piazza del Corpus Domini, it is where the Augusta Taurinorum forum once stood. People came here to discuss business or shop at the market. But in the 17C, an extensive scheme of works by the Savoys put paid to the market. The stalls and wares were cleared, and Lanfranchi built the Palazzo di Città (town hall).
