Palazzo Madama

Recommended
This remarkable 14C palazzo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built on one of the monumental gates of the future Turin (1C BC), was once the home of two "Royal Ladies". The first, Christine of France, had the courtyard of the medieval castle covered to create a large assembly room. The second, Marie-Jeanne-Baptiste of Savoy-Nemours, died before her extensive rebuild was completed: only the splendid Baroque façade and sumptuous monumental staircase were finished. The palace is home to the Museo Civico d'Arte Antica.
