Po Street

Interesting
The structural unity of the palazzi and arcades that Amadeo di Castellamonte (1613-83) embedded along a stretch of more than 700m is quite exceptional. You will note that the porticoes on the left side of the street (as you go down) also straddle the side streets, unlike the right-hand side, which was consequently considered vulgar. It was a specific order of King Victor Emmanuel I, who did not want to forego his daily stroll on rainy days! The street is lined with booksellers' stalls.
