Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo)
Completely surrounded by Baroque buildings and preceded by propylaea opening onto Via Vittorio Emanuele II, this is one of the most remarkable squares in southern Italy. Monuments of interest include the campanile (by Giuseppe Zimbalo), the cathedral (by the same architect), the Episcopal Palace and the Seminary Palace, built in 1709 following designs by Giuseppe Cino, who also designed the magnificently decorated well in the courtyard of this building.
