Located in the northeast of Sardinia, Olbia, which is the main passenger port of Italy and also has an airport and an extensive road network, bills itself as the island's "driving economic force". It is nonetheless worth lingering here to admire the town's Romanesque basilica, Roman aqueduct, 18C residences, Archaeological Museum, and, in an urban landscape where nature still thrives, taking a break in the Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo marine park.
