Savoca

Savoca
The Essential
A typical medieval inland town, Savoca is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It stands on a hill between two ridges, surrounded by the districts of San Rocco, San Giovanni and Pentefur, which give it a star-like appearance. The town is home to the Convento dei Cappuccini, a Capuchin monastery whose crypt contains several mummies; the church of San Michele, with its fine Gothic and Renaissance doorways; the remains of a Norman castle; and the Chiesa Madre, which has a remarkable doorway.
