La Cuba

Interesting
La Cuba Sottana was built in 1180, commissioned by William II, as a pleasure palace where the court gathered for celebrations and to enjoy a more refreshing climate. Designed along the lines of an Eastern pleasure palace, it is rich in Arab architectural details. A scale-model of the original layout is visible in the former stables, on the way in on the right.
