Piazza Gamurrini

The square, which is near to the Porta Fiorentina, is marked by an obelisk erected in 1644. The modest 17C church of Santa Chiara is next to the old keep, which was built by the Sienese in 1383. The church houses two works of art in terracotta by the local painter and sculptor, Andrea Sansovino, namely St Sebastian, St Lawrence and St Roch and a Madonna and Child with Four Saints.
